iLevel Announces Third-Party Verification of Product
Sustainability
Green Building is the fastest growing area of the
construction industry, but without commonly accepted
standards and definitions, it can be difficult to
differentiate between manufacturers’ claims about
sustainability, green practices and compliance with green
building standards. The industry has been asking for a
verification standard for sustainability from a reliable,
impartial source. To address this need, the ICC Evaluation
Service® (ICC-ES®) created the Sustainable
Attributes Verification and Evaluation Program™
(SAVE™) to verify manufacturers’ claims about
the environmental footprint of their products. The
SAVE™ report expands on iLevel’s NAHB
Green-Approved certificates and supplements our SFI
certification.
This program is the first of its kind to both verify the
sustainability of building materials and provide guidance
on how products may qualify for green building points
within the five major green building standards using
Verification of Attributes Reports (VARs™). And
iLevel is the first company to receive a VAR™
environmental report for its entire product line, including
engineered wood products, solid sawn lumber, software and
NextPhase Solutions.
This recently released report VAR-1008 is available on the ICC-ES website. Read more in the news release.
